A lot has been happening over at The Dental Card as we lead up to our October launch. Most of it has been behind-the-scenes so we thought it would be a good idea to let you know what’s going on.
Well not entirely new. We worked with local graphic designer Khalid Hidimi to translate our logo into Arabic. Khalid is a talented graphic artist who we love working with. As we expand outside of the UAE, we’ll work to translate our site into Arabic as well.
Built our network of dentists and dental clinics
We met with 70% of our target dental clinics in Dubai and Sharjah. Most of them have signed on to our network, which we’re really excited about. We’ll continue to meet with dentists and dental clinics throughout the UAE in order to build a strong network of quality dentists.
Let us know if you are a dentist and would like more information about working with The Dental Card.
We decided to put our site live early for 2 reasons. First, we wanted everyone to watch a short video about what The Dental Card is and how it benefits you. The second reason was to offer a pre-launch promo code. Anyone who signs up for our email list will get a promo code for 20% off any membership card when we launch.
If you didn’t get a chance to sign up, just leave us a comment below (or get in touch with us on Facebook/Twitter) and we’ll add you to the list!
Keep your eyes out for us
We have some really exciting marketing tie-ups and advertising campaigns coming up. One of which is with The Entertainer, everyone’s favorite voucher book. We’re proud of the way the ad turned out and we hope everyone takes full advantage of the amazing offer we’ve included.
We don’t want to give it away just yet, but we know you’ll be just as excited as we are!
Spent hundreds of hours tweaking the backend of our site
This has been the most painstaking process of starting The Dental Card. We have spent hundreds of hours designing, testing and tweaking the database and code for our website. Our web programmers are sick of us and quite frankly we’re sick of them! Ah, but they’re doing a great job and we’ll definitely have to think of a way to thank them for putting in some major work.
A bit of good news: we’ll be working with local online payment processor, PayFort (formerly CashU). PayFort is one of only 2 payment processors in the world that can process online transactions in AED.
With PayPal and other payment processors, the actual transaction is charged in USD (or another foreign currency) even if the price you see on the website is in AED. This may be fine for some companies, but we want our customers to have a seamless and transparent purchasing process. So PayFort it is!
That’s it for this month’s update. Oh yeah, and look out for our official launch in mid-September!
